The second course on religious tourism for diocesan guides and operators was inaugurated in recent days in the great hall of the Theological Faculty of Sardinia in Cagliari.
An initiative - with a limited number, with 36 participants - financed by the Pilgrimage Destination Foundation in Sardinia with funds made available by the Regional Tourism Department.
"Combining the spiritual values of the territory and of tradition with a new model of economy is not simple but it is a challenge that must be undertaken for the good of all", explained the dean of the Theological Faculty, Don Mario Farci.
"It can even be considered - added Monsignor Antonello Mura , president of the regional bishops' conference - as an experience where something is created in which one truly believes, a reality that becomes a dream, one might say, rather than a dream that becomes reality" .
In presenting the course, the Regional Councilor for Tourism Gianni Chessa instead emphasized the need to "facilitate a now necessary change of perspective, given the dramatic depopulation facing the Sardinian territory: we need to give hope to young people, offer them the opportunity to return to Sardinia with a new and different development model. The Region is already acting in this sense, but we must all believe in it together ».
The course on religious tourism will be held for five consecutive weekends, until the beginning of December.
