The turnout for the regional elections in Basilicata at 12pm today was 9.12%. A figure down compared to the 13.31 percent recorded at the same time in the 2019 regional elections, when however voting only took place on Sunday.

In the province of Potenza the turnout was 8.84 percent (13.42% in 2019), in the province of Matera it was 9.74 percent (13.08% in 2019).

The 682 sections that will welcome the 567,959 people entitled to vote to elect the president of the Region and 20 members of the regional council (13 for the province of Potenza and seven for that of Matera) have been open since this morning at 7 am in the 131 municipalities of Basilicata. .

Today you can vote until 11pm; the polling stations (there are four hospital sections) will reopen tomorrow morning at 7 am and will close definitively at 3 pm, to immediately make way for the counting of ballots.

According to the latest counts from the prefectures, 279,552 men and 288,407 women have the right to vote, who will have to choose between 258 candidates.

Running for the presidency are Vito Bardi (supported by seven symbols: centre-right and the parties of Calenda and Renzi), Piero Marrese (centre-left, with five symbols) and Eustachio Follia (Volt).
