"The bridge must be built, then perhaps we can make some advances, we'll see what can be done: there are many proposals and they will all be evaluated, including that one. But first we need to quantify the damage, understand how much is needed and where: all the proposals are useful."

This was stated by Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani, who was responding from Brussels to a question about the use of funds from the Messina Strait Bridge for the regions affected by the bad weather.

"The government is mobilizing tremendously; the €100 million is just an initial step . I'll be in Sicily, Calabria, and Sardinia on Monday to meet with businesses that have suffered damage and need support, as we did in Emilia-Romagna," Tajani explained.
