Great fear for Sofia Goggia.

The ski champion fell in the Super G in Cortina, a few days before the start of the Beijing Olympics (February 4th).

After a mistake in a corner that forced her to swerve sharply, she fell a little further ahead due to a scissor kick that caused her to crash in the snow.

At that point she slowly got up on her own, put her skis back on and returned to the valley, spreading her arms in response to the audience cheering and cheering on her.

From the first tests she reported an "alleged sprain of the left knee": now the opportunity of a quick transfer to Milan to undergo an MRI scan and a visit by the Fisi doctors is being evaluated.

THE RACE - It is the blue Elena Curtoni who wins the Super G of cdm in Cortina d'Ampezzo. For the 30-year-old sprinter from Valtellina it is the second success in her career after the victory in the Bansko downhill in 2020. Behind her the Austrian Tamara Tippler in 1.21.07 and the Swiss Michelle Gisin in 1.21.22. For Italy - with sun and perfect track - there is also the fourth place of Federica Brignone in 1.21.30.

Brignone with 377 points has now moved to the top of the discipline standings ahead of Curtoni with 348 and Goggia remained at 332: a true Italian domination. In this Super G in the standings there are also the blue Marta Bassino in 1.22.64 and Nicol Delago in 1.23.49 while Francesca Marsaglia missed a goal. The women's world cup remains in Italy and passes to South Tyrol: on Tuesday at Plan De Corones giant slalom.
