Lando Norris' McLaren won the Australian Grand Prix , the first race of the 2025 World Championship . And only rain prevented the favourites from scoring their first one-two of the year, with Piastri finishing at the back of the pack, but still able to finish ninth.

Second place for Red Bull of Max Verstappen ahead of Mercedes of George Russell. Eighth place for Ferrari of Charles Leclerc, while tenth place for the other Red of Lewis Hamilton .

Fourth place for Alexander Albon's Williams ahead of the Mercedes of the Italian driver Kimi Antonelli, fifth. Sixth place for Lance Stroll's Aston Martin, ahead of Nico Hulkemberg's Sauber. Closing in ninth place is Oscar Piastri's McLaren, who overtook Lewis Hamilton's Ferrari in the final corners, last in the top ten.
