Antonio Marras opens his first store in Rome. In the heart of Rome: via Condotti.
"It was a duty to return - says the Sardinian designer - since everything was born in the capital at the end of the nineties".
Marras, who from 2003 to 2011 was the artistic director of Kenzo, in fact presented in 1991, in the Capitoline salons , his first haute couture collections created in the small atelier of his beloved island, in Alghero , thanks to the expert hands of the embroiderers of ancient tradition handed down from mother to daughter. Collections that drew inspiration from female personalities such as that of Maria Lai, a great Sardinian artist, of the goddess Tanit, of the women who emigrated from Sardinia to Argentina, of those who worked in the mines in Sulcis.
The fashion shows were prepared in via Margutta, in a courtyard where former stables had been converted into warehouses.
After 27 years since the last fashion show in Rome, Marras will now inaugurate its first store in the capital with a private event on March 30th .
