All set for the World Boccia Challenger in Olbia

On September 12, the World Boccia Challenger will be presented in Cagliari, at the conference room of the Regional Department of Tourism, Crafts and Commerce . This is a highly important competition that will take place in Olbia and is preparatory to the 2028 Los Angeles Paralympics, in which the Italian Bocce Federation hopes to participate.
The international Paralympic Boccia event, a discipline that allows athletes with serious and very serious disabilities to compete at a competitive level, is organized by the FIB, through the ASD ICHNUSA Organizing Committee , and supported by the Minister of Sport, the Department of Tourism of the Sardinia Region , the Department of Sport of the Sardinia Region , by the Department of Sport of the Municipality of Olbia and by FIB partner BMW Specialmente . The event is also sponsored by Ussi (Italian Sports Press Union).
Speakers will include the president of the Italian Bocce Federation, Marco Giunio De Sanctis , the Councilor for Tourism, Crafts and Commerce of the Sardinia Region, Franco Cuccureddu , the Councilor for Sport of the Municipality of Olbia, Elena Casu , the president of CONI Sardinia, Bruno Perra and the Commissioner of the Italian Paralympic Committee of Sardinia, member of the CIP National Board and president of FISPES Sandrino Porru . The journalist Mario Frongia will moderate.
It is important to remember that events of this kind not only have a significant sporting relevance, but also promote tourism, contributing to the local economy, and spreading the passion for Boccia. They also encourage the participation of young generations with motor difficulties and create a cultural bridge between participants of different nationalities, encouraging exchanges and relationships.

Despite the disappointment of not participating in the Paralympics, we will continue, as we have done in recent years, to provide all the necessary means to help our athletes grow from a technical point of view and make them stronger at an international level. The world event in Sardinia is a great opportunity to qualify for Los Angeles 2028. For the Federbocce it would be a particularly important result .”
The international Paralympic Boccia event, which will start on September 29 with the opening ceremony scheduled for September 30 at 6 pm and will end with the awards ceremony on October 4 and 6 at the Palageovillage in Olbia, will feature Australia, Belgium, China, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Finland, France, Germany, Great Britain, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Norway, Poland, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia and Sweden, the national teams involved, whose athletes will compete in the Individual Categories BC1, BC2, BC3 and BC4 and in the Couples BC3 and BC4.
The Italian delegation will be composed of the head of delegation Vincenzo Santucci, the coach Loreno Targa, the vice Lorenzo Fedele, the athletes Giuseppe Rollo, Deborah Giannaccari, Mirco Garavaglia, Gabriele Zendron, Giulia Marchisio, Matteo Tosetti; and the assistants Eleonora Rollo, Carlo Giannaccari, Martino Miorelli, Umberto Garavaglia, Adriano Zendron, Maria Rita Cattani, Roberto Marchisio, Rosaria Caviglia and Mario Tosetti.
