The summer tourist season is now very close to the start, with Italy and Sardinia preparing to attract visitors from all over the world.

But what are the most popular places for the next high summer season in Sardinia?

Holidu, one of the largest search engines for holiday homes and apartments in Europe, has carried out a study indicating the most sought-after locations as well as average prices and availability for each destination.

According to Holidu, the most sought-after destination is San Teodoro : the locality of Gallura precedes Villasimius (including Capo Carbonara) and Costa Rei, a fraction of the municipality of Muravera. Alghero and Orosei complete the top 5. In sixth place Budoni, which precedes Olbia and the capital Cagliari. In ninth place is Piazza Stintino, which includes the unmissable Punta de Su Turrione, while another town in Gallura, Golfo Aranci, closes the top 10.

Porto Cervo, the most famous of the hamlets of Arzachena, is confirmed as the most expensive with its average 592 euros per night, far ahead of all the other locations, starting from Baia Sardinia (342 euros on average per night) and Golfo Aranci (338 euros on average per night).

Among the 40 most popular locations, the cheapest are Santa Maria Navarrese (a hamlet of Baunei) with an average of 147 euros, Castelsardo with 144 euros, up to Cabras with an average “only” 140 euros per night.

Isola Rossa, Cagliari and Oristano still have a good availability of bookable accommodations out of the total of existing accommodations, with about 60% of the accommodations still available. Not yet sold out but with an availability of about a third there are also Alghero and Villasimius. A quarter of the accommodations available in Costa Rei (24%), up to only 19% in Golfo Aranci. Santa Maria Navarrese closes this ranking with 13% and Putzu Idu with only 11% of accommodations still bookable.
