According to local media reports, the car he was traveling in collided with a train near a level crossing in the Salzburg area. Despite the arrival of emergency responders, there was nothing that could be done for Manninger.
Manninger played numerous seasons in Italy . Between 2001 and 2012, he played in Serie A for Fiorentina, Torino, Bologna, Brescia, Siena, and Juventus.
