Great success for the 2023 edition of Akènta Day, the event that celebrates the emergence of Akènta Sub, the underwater wine aged on the seabed by the Santa Maria La Palma Cantina.

On the morning of Saturday 15 July, more than 8 official boats carrying about 450 passengers witnessed the suggestive operations of the emergence of the submarine wine, together with more than 60 private boats aggregated to the group: around 11.30 in the waters of the coast of Alghero, near Capo Galera, a team of professional divers led by Michele Sanna brought out two underwater cellars with the aid of special balloons. The activity was concluded with the spectacular intervention of the helicopter piloted by Andrea Baccanti which lifted the cages that protect the precious bottles, taking them to the storage point and then to the Santa Maria La Palma winery.

The operation saw around 1000 bottles of Akènta Sub emerge: at the same time as many were immersed, ready to come back to light during the next Akènta Day.

Subsequently the cruise moved to the splendid area of Cala Burantino, where a large boat party took place, with a different DJ set on each boat.

Akènta Day is an event that is bringing an important return of visibility for the Akènta Sub project and, at the same time, has the ability to act as an effective promoter of the territory of Alghero and Sardinia. This edition of Akènta Day saw the participation of hundreds of people and operators in the world of wine from all over the world, from the United States (New York, Boston, Miami) to England, Holland, Switzerland, Germany, Slovakia, united to many other guests from different regions of Italy. A large group of professionals who were enchanted by the beauty of the Alghero coast, experiencing first-hand a unique event such as the emergence of Sardinia's underwater cellars.

The goal of the Santa Maria La Palma winery is to promote the wines of Sardinia and its territory all over the world: actions such as Akènta Day are designed precisely to go in this direction and they are succeeding in their intent.

The success of the 2023 edition is an important signal: the company is already projected towards 2024, a year in which Akènta Day will be re-proposed with some changes and innovations, to allow more and more people to participate and continue to tell the beauty of the island and the quality of its wines.
