Sardinia among the most sought after destinations on Airbnb for summer holidays. Three Sardinian locations are in the Italian top 5, two in the world top 10.

To make the lion's share is Villasimius, the most sought after in Italy and the third in the world , behind the Turkish town of Bodrum and Ibiza. Then there is Orosei , which ranks third nationally behind the Sicilian Noto, fifth is Santa Teresa Gallura . In the world ranking, in addition to Villasimius, there is San Teodoro , the tenth most sought-after location.

Summer 2022 will likely see even higher numbers than the pre-pandemic period. Already at the end of April, explains Arbnb, the nights booked for summer 2022 recorded an increase of 30% compared to the same period in 2019. The focus is mainly on the sea, on locations up to 5 kilometers from the coast. And Italy and Sardinia can only make the big voice: two Sardinian and three Italian locations, when no nation has more than one location among the 10 most sought after globally.
