The quartet from Italy took the silver medal in the final of the men's 4x100m relay at the World Championships in Budapest.

The Azzurri Roberto Rigali at the launch, then Marcell Jacobs, Lorenzo Patta from Oristano and finally the sprinter of Tempi origins Filippo Tortu ran in 37"62.

The gold (the third for Noah Lyles) went to the USA, the bronze to Jamaica.

Sardinia ran and came close to the feat also for the women's 4X100 relay: the quartet composed by Dalia Kaddari with Zaynab Dosso, Anna Bongiorni and Alessia Pavese finished in fourth place. Gold for the USA, silver for Jamaica and bronze for Great Britain. «A fourth place that we like but we still want more! Next year in Rome and Paris», promise the Azzurri.

For Italy, that of the men's relay is the fourth medal at the World Championships in Budapest, the second silver after that of Leonardo Fabbri in the shot put. There is also the gold of “Gimbo” Tamberi in the high jump and the bronze of Antonella Palmisano in the women's 20 km walk.
