Carla Fundoni, president of the Regional Council's Health Commission, replies after the alarm raised by the Sardinian 118 volunteers on the expiring agreement . "I have already urged the department to extend it and temporarily, because it is not even imaginable that the service will stop for a single minute ," she declares. "The hearing of the Anas social network and representatives of the voluntary associations and social cooperatives that carry out the 118 emergency service, allows us to have a clearer picture of the needs and critical issues of the system. It is clear that the agreement that will expire on December 31, 2024 will have to be renewed and the existing contribution further increased, given the general increases in materials and equipment."

Among the new developments, Fundoni highlights one: «We are evaluating with great interest the proposals brought to the attention of the commission», he continues. «Among these, the experimental proposal presented by Anas to put a nurse on board basic ambulances, paid by the organizations , in order to avoid improper access to the emergency room and improve the quality of work of emergency room operators».

In 2025, meetings will continue to implement solutions that guarantee an excellent service, which follows the third sector law. The general director of Areus will then be heard for a careful analysis of the emergency urgency system .
