A thirty-two-year-old man from Selargius, two men from Quartu, aged 36 and 40, and a thirty-six-year-old man from Guamaggiore , were arrested by the Carabinieri in Cagliari yesterday evening after a chase through the streets of Sant'Avendrace. The charges: possession of narcotics for the purpose of trafficking.
It all started with a routine patrol in the neighborhood. The Carabinieri noticed a car making a suspicious maneuver to avoid the police vehicle. Despite a stop, after reaching the suspect, the driver decided to accelerate in an attempt to escape. And the chase began. The vehicle was intercepted and stopped a few streets away.
While escaping the police, the passengers attempted to throw two packages out of the window, hoping their actions would go unnoticed. However, this proved to be unsuccessful: when the situation calmed down , officers recovered the items and discovered they contained cocaine. A subsequent search, which included both the occupants and the interior of the vehicle, yielded two additional packages. The total seizure amounted to 28 grams of cocaine.
