Neolia Castillo died by euthanasia: she was raped, attempted suicide, and left paraplegic.

Noelia Castillo Ramos has died: she ended her life through euthanasia at the age of 25 in a social and health center in the province of Barcelona.

Her tragic story shocked Spain and beyond. The young woman was left paraplegic in 2022 following a suicide attempt after being sexually assaulted by her ex-partner and three other young men.

She refused to be kept alive, and the process of assisted death was complex due to her father's opposition. The father, supported by Abogados Cristianos, lawyers from a conservative Catholic association, attempted to block the procedure. He argued that his daughter was incapable of making a decision.

However, all the courts ruled in favor of the twenty-five-year-old. The judges established that Noelia had always been conscious and that her condition fully met the legal parameters.

His last words were given to a television station: "I finally made it, let's see if I can finally rest."
