Over 700 applications have been received for the first edition of the "I Suoni della Gallura" National Music Competition, scheduled for May 14-17, 2026, in Arzachena and Palau. Participants include numerous school orchestras: the Settimo San Pietro Institute, the Monte Attu Institute 2 of Tortolì, the Maria Lai Institute of Olbia, the Azuni Music High School of Sassari, the Muggianu GA Institute of Orosei, the Bono Institute, the Monsignor Saba Institute of Elmas, and the La Maddalena Institute. Adding national appeal to the event is the special participation of the Maria Adelaide School of Palermo, with its orchestra.

For four days, Arzachena and Palau will become the beating heart of youth music, with a succession of auditions, performances, and opportunities for young people to meet and exchange ideas, growth, and dialogue. The grand finale is scheduled for May 17th at 8:30 pm, with the awards ceremony for the First Absolute Prizes and the awarding of scholarships, cups, medals, and plaques to the competition's top talents.

To enhance the experience, a program of high-quality evening concerts, open to the public with free admission while seats last, will be held at the "Michele Ruzittu" Civic Museum in Arzachena: May 14th – Concert by Maestro Roberto Di Marzo (marimba and vibraphone); May 15th – Concert by the Duo Cordas et Bentu, Maestro Maria Luciani and Maestro Francesca Apeddu. May 16th – Piano recital by Maestro Andrej Shaklev. The event is the result of a collaboration between the Arzachena Comprehensive School 1 and the Municipal Administration, with the artistic direction of teachers Antonio Lascaro and Chiara Bellamacina.
