Luis Alberto Angioni, twenty-one year old from Maracalagonis, student of the Brotzu artistic high school in Quartu , during his high school exam decided to tackle the part of history and philosophy in Sardinian.

"I wanted to conclude this course of study - he explains - by doing something original. But above all I was interested in honoring a beautiful, rich language that is our genetic mark . But that we are forgetting by becoming too 'American' and not very native. Sardinian is instead a language to be valued. An extra knowledge that increases our awareness and our cultural baggage. It doesn't matter if I will not use it for practical purposes, for example in the world of work. For me it was important to know it and cultivate it as an enrichment personal ".

His subject professor, Priamo Farris, expert teacher of Sardinian language, who two years ago also published a text on the subject ("Problems and perspectives of linguistic planning in Sardinia. Limba, history, society"), offered to translate for "continental" colleagues.

"I talked about the relationship between man and nature in the Middle Ages linked above all to religion and to the fact that nature expressed the will of God - says the student - and then I moved on to the Renaissance man aware of his ability, also artisan, in the manipulation of nature. nowadays with bioethics linked to the relationship with the environment ".

"It all started very spontaneously - underlines Professor Farris - from the boy's curiosity and solicitation. I also teach Sardinian language and history, we have often studied these issues in depth. And, considering that the law allows it, we have welcomed and accompanied this student's desire. ".

Now for Luis Alberto the doors of the world are opening: "Needless to underline it, I would still like to deepen my knowledge also in the history of Sardinian art".
