Cagliari Calcio pays homage to Fabian O'Neill exactly one year after his death . A sad Christmas for many Cagliari fans: "The magician" died at 12.55 on 25 December 2022 in Montevideo, in the Medica Uruguaya clinic.
Genius and recklessness, he was only 49 years old: killed by the alcohol problems that O'Neill always had, and which worsened at the end of his football career.
In a 43-second video on its social profiles, with the notes of "No potho reposare" playing in the background, Cagliari shows some images of the "magician" in the rossoblù shirt and the tribute from Domus after his death. Accompanying the video, which already says it all, are a few words: "One year ago" and a black heart.
Mourning for that magician who "has always been too good to others and bad to himself".
